Summary

 Creating architecture and urban space which are the final product of architectural design industry not only makes self-added value through the process but also acts as a factor of production of other industries while consuming and creates additional cultural and tourist values after it is completed. Recently the industrial competitiveness of knowledge service industry and its added value is newly rising with the cultural and tourist value of architecture and urban space. In these situation we need to make greater national and social effort to promote architectural design industry which are poor in both home and abroad.

 The purpose of this study is to suggest macroscopic directions for promoting architectural design industry. Therefore 3 main strategies and 8 main tasks are deducted with 22 detailed action plans. They are described as follows.
