The 3rd Korea Future Architectural Policy Idea Contest Award Ceremony
The Architecture and Urban Research Institute (AURI) and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) held the '3rd Korea Future Architectural Policy Idea Contest Award Ceremony' on Wednesday, November 16 at Insadong Court in Seoul.
This contest is an event to ensure early discovery of architectural policy demands that the public can sympathize with and experience, and has been held every year since 2020 to enhance the prestige of architectural spaces in Korea and further develop the architectural field.
This year, under the theme of "Ideas and Proposals for the Future of Architecture and the Urban Environment," a total of 149 entries were received in three categories: essays, posters, and videos, and a total of 9 works were selected through the first and second screening, including 4 outstanding works and 5 works that merited encouragement awards. On the day of the award ceremony, the outstanding works were awarded the top prizes and the excellence award through on-site evaluations by a jury composed of experts and young people, and the grand prizes were 'BIN, Architecture with Citizens through a Public Participatory Architecture App (Essay)' and 'Not when I was your age, but starting with me’ (Video)', respectively. At the youth policy meeting held after the award ceremony, experts from industry, academia, and research, youth representatives, and winners discussed how to apply the proposed ideas.
