The "2022 Korea Hanok Competitiont" will be held. The contest is hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the National Hanok Center of the Architecture and Urban Research Institute. The Korea Hanok Competition, held for the twelfth this year since 2011, was prepared to discover the excellence of hanok and explore new development possibilities.

2022 Korea Hanok Competition is divided into four categories under the theme of 'Hanok with a Heart': Hanok building, Student contest, Photography, and Video.

The Hanok buiding category is for Hanoks completed before April 20, 2019 in order to select hanoks with excellent user satisfaction and maintenance status. In the Student contest section, topics can be freely proposed, and teams of up to 4 undergraduate and graduate students or individuals can participate. In the Photography and Video section, a contest is being held on free themes related to hanok, and works that capture not only traditional hanok, but also the beauty of newly built hanok, and the meaning and value of hanok that can be found in everyday life from a creative perspective.

Submission period of works will be from August 1st to 2nd, and the final winner will be announced in early September after the first and second shortlisting in August. The winning works will be published on the website of the 2022 Korea Hanok Competition and at the exhibition.
